The 4 DAYS OF FUNERAL
DAY 1
On e way down, saw a sec sch kid playing wif e cubic, not so fast but is okie... can fin by 1 Mrt stop...
Went down there,some of e things were still not ready yet so we hav to help out too... setting e tables, chairs, drinks, peanuts all tis... den learn some things oso like put red strings tgt wif e peanuts all tis..
e buffet were not yet here, so we hav go to e kopitiam there to settle our meals first...
den we hav to do e customary things... Lian Jing (meaning e shi fu) n holding jose sticks n walk ard etc... hav to keep doing e 3 bais, do till i feeling dizzy lor...
home sweet home except for my dad vos he has to stay over at e wake to catch cats...
DAY 2
Today no need to lian jing n so i ended wif nth to do.... ended keep playing wif e cubic... play wif e whole day n still cant solve... my mum cant solve oso...
n i was so cold today lor cos it pouring heavily wif e angry wind threatening at us...
e buffet food came today, but it was late n we hav to wait for e ppl to heat up e food b4 we can start eating... e food is vegtairian cos of my extended family's religion... but e food is not nice lor...
some of relatives de qing qi peng you came down today to pay theirs respects...
Home sweet home...
DAY 3
considered e most impt day cos today alot of lian jing n 3 bais to do...
but they onli came ard at a ltr timing...
today even more ppl came down to pay theirs respect...
e food today is nicer though is vegetarian oso... n e dessert is gd too... green bean soup... got bean n got soup de...
met one of my long-lost cousins... quite handsome though juz tt abit on e short side (short genes seem to run in our family)
my gu-gu they all keep looking at e shi fu while doing e lian jing cos he quite young n handsome oso... n he keep look over at us oso (to see wat we r up to)
today no home sweet home... we hav to stay over at e wake there cos tmk by 9 in e morn hav to lian jing n alot of things le... not enuff time for us to rush down...
however due to e gd gesture of my big gu-gu, we went to stay over at their hse...
by e time we reach n after bath is alr 1 in e morn n we hav to leave e hse by 7.30 tml to make it on time...
as their hse hav a cat (luckily it is not big) n in e begining, e cat is quite scared of us... (which i was quite glad for it cos means we dun hav to fend off e cat ltr) after awhile, e cat warm up to us le (means i hav to fend off e cat cos it keep coming over to me n staying at my slping area... luckily, e cat did not disturb me while i slp if not i strangle or threw e cat out of e window den i dun noe le....
n my brother keep pestering for food cos he is hungry (imagine tt. at 1 alr n still eating a full meal, tt is wat he did almost everyday...)
DAY 4
most happening... after doing e lian jing, 3 bais n walk ard, we went to follow after e 'car' for a distance b4 getting on e van... wif someone to hold e stuff n one to hold e paper umbellra... sending to b cremeted... over there same routine oso b4 we wistness e whole process den we got back to e wake there...
after yum cha (they ordered yum cha - e nicest food of all e days), we rest for awhile first b4 heading back to collect e aashes, by noe is alr 2 le...
e ppl sort out e ashes n lay out those tt we are supposed to pick de aside...
after tt we head down to e place where we can go there to pay our respects de next time... more things to b done here... after much praying, we hav to put 2 same-sized coins in e 'vase' n put e ashes using specials chopsticks in oso...
curosity kills e cat, one of my small cousins, out of his curosity, he went to play wif e paper umerbellra... n tis make all of us laugh... but den its not a gd thing to play wif things actually... cos of its purpose...
finally home sweet home...
e trip down there (1 trip onli not counting e trip back is alr 2 hrs), imagine us spending 4 hrs each day to travel...
WHY SO LONG YOU WLD ASK?
cos e journey is like tt: 1)take a bus to interchange
2)take train to outram/doubty ghaut
3)take purple line to seng kang (which is juzt 1 stop away fr punggol onli)
4)take LRT to kang kar
5)walk there (end of journey)
hence e long hrs...
